The order transfers administrative control of the court to the Honorable Stephen McCarville, Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of Arizona in Pinal County, effective Jan. 9.
"It is further ordered that Judge Stephen McCarville shall arrange for interim appointment of a judicial officer(s) for the Maricopa Municipal Court and the Maricopa Justice Court until such time as the existing financial, record keeping, and case management deficiencies can be addressed and staff trained to properly operate the court."
Longtime City magistrate Scott Sulley is stepping down.Sulley, who is the subject of an investigation into the mismanagement of court monies, was "reassigned to duties" by Stephen McCarville, presiding judge of the Pinal County Superior Court, in February.
