Stephanie Nelson
Stephanie Nelson Stephanie Nelson Stephanie Nelson t: 214 367 6129 f: 214 754 9140 Stephanie Dooley Nelson is an appellate lawyer with extensive trial experience. She represents clients in intermediate Texas appellate courts, the Texas Supreme Court, and federal circuit courts of appeals. Her numerous appeals include jurisdictional challenges, mandamus petitions, and interlocutory and accelerated appeals that often involve time-sensitive and complex procedural issues. Drawing on her previous experience as a trial lawyer, Stephanie also focuses her practice on assisting trial teams with motion practice, evidentiary issues, the jury charge, and litigation strategy. Her deep understanding of all elements of the litigation process enables her to bring extensive value to her litigation clients. Stephanie collaborates with trial teams by anticipating and handling issues that often arise on appeal, such as preservation of error, Batson challenges, sufficiency of the evidence, and the judgment. In addition, she routinely drafts and argues dispositive motions in conjunction with her litigation clients. Stephanie's broad litigation and appellate experience extends to almost all facets of commercial and business litigation, including fiduciary obligations, professional liability, employment relations, contract disputes, insurance coverage, and products liability. Her clients have hailed from a broad spectrum of market sectors, including law firms, manufacturing, insurance, aviation, trucking, and oil and gas production. Stephanie has a long history of leadership in the Dallas legal bar. She currently serves on the Council of the Dallas Bar Association's Appellate Section, and she is a former president of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) and former chair of the DAYL Foundation. She also previously served on the Dallas Bar Association's Board of Directors. In 1997, Stephanie received her law degree, cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law, where she was Managing Editor of the Baylor Law Review, a member of the National Order of Barristers, a decorated speaker on the moot court team, and received the President's Award as the law school's outstanding student. Stephanie received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in 1991. Stephanie formerly was a partner with Carrington Coleman Sloman & Blumenthal in Dallas. Stephanie Nelson
