Stephanie Clark is also the founder of My Daughters Keeper, a non-profit organization created to provide support and resources to mothers/caregivers and daughters (ages 8-19). Not only is Ms. Clark a single mom herself, but she was the youngest of 13 kids raised by a single mother.

STEPHANIE CLARK : Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven

Stephanie Clark
Stephanie Clark The Miss Black America pageant hasn't really impacted on the soul scene very much, an interesting if deeply flawed LP by the wonderful Moments and a rather mawkish Curtis Mayfield song notwithstanding. But this track by the 1970 winner Stephanie Clark is in a different class. Ms Clark came from Georgia originally but was living in Arlington, VA and studying psychology at Ithaca college in New York when she won the title. A woman of strong and independent ideas she went on several trips to Vietnam to entertain the troops, and later founded My Daughter's Keeper, a non-profit organization created to provide support and resources to mothers/caregivers and daughters. She subsequently wrote a well-received book on her experience of being a single mother. Liberate yourself - SOUND AND SOUL 512770 Although she sang in a lot of clubs over the years I think this is her only record released. A pity as she has a really big voice which she controls well and her command of dynamics is first rate on Listen "Liberate Yourself", a fine song with just the sort of lyric she would have wished to be associated with.

eLearners.com Teams Up with Five Online Colleges and Universities to Send Moms and Dads Back to School Tuition Free

"I worked with eLearners.com on the second Project Working Mom campaign and it was so inspiring to see women's dreams come true as they received the scholarship," said Stephanie Clark, the founder & CEO of My Daughter's Keeper, Inc., a non-profit organization empowering mothers, daughters, women and girls and a mother/daughter relationship coach.
"Education is a powerful force and the best example for kids is for them to see their parents practicing what they preach and getting a college education for themselves." Editor's Note: To interview one of the scholarship recipients from the 2008 Project Working Mom campaigns; a member of Project Working Mom; a member of National Center for Fathering; Stephanie Clark, the founder & CEO of My Daughter's Keeper or a member of the participating universities, contact Jenny Foust at 303.433.7020, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
