Stephanie Brookes joined the Media and Communications program in 2011. Prior to that, she worked as a sessional lecturer and subject coordinator in the University of Melbourne's School of Culture and Communication and School of Social and Political Sciences. Dr. Brookes has also worked at the Melbourne Writers' Festival, Crikey! and The Reader magazine.
From September 2011-July 2012, Dr. Brookes was a Visiting Researcher in the School of Communication, Culture and Technology at Georgetown University. On 22 March 2012 she presented a public seminar 'Asian Anxiety: Australia and the Asia-Pacific' at the Centre for Australian and New Zealand Studies, Georgetown University. She has written a blog post 'The US Relationship to the Asia-Pacific' outlining some of the seminar's themes.
