Education: Dr. Stan Marks graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Dr. Marks received his PhD degree in Nutrition from the University of California, Davis.
Affiliation: Dr. Marks is currently a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Epidemiology at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Marks is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in the subspecialties of internal medicine and oncology, and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition (ACVN).
Dr. Marks is the Director of the Companion Animal Gastrointestinal Laboratory that focuses on furthering our understanding and knowledge of bacterial-associated diarrhea, with an emphasis on Clostridial diseases.
In addition, Dr. Marks
has research interests in the diagnosis and management of dysphagia in dogs and infectious diarrhea.
has published extensively in the areas of canine and feline gastroenterology, and has contributed chapters to a number of textbooks.
was selected as the 2003 Speaker of the Year at the North American Veterinary Conference, and has received the favorite small animal teacher award from students at UC Davis numerous times.
