Stanley W. ChambersStanley W. ChambersStanley W. Chambers age 89 of Prairie du Chien passed away Weds., Oct. 12, 2005 at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. He was born Apr. 13, 1916 in West Concord, MN, son of William and Myrtle (Severson) Chambers.He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Pharmacy, where he also played the trombone in the college band.He married Mary Jane Norton on Aug. 17, 1940.She preceded him in death on July 19, 1964.He later married Fern Noggle Chabela on June 16, 1967. He worked for the Upjohn Company in LaCrosse, WI until 1950 when he moved to Prairie du Chien.He became a partner in Farrell's Drug Store in Prairie du Chien which would later become Prairie Pharmacy.Stan worked as a consultant for the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital and was one of the original Board Members. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an longtime member of the Prairie du Chien Country Club.Stan was a talented woodworker and an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Notre Dame University.He was a beloved member of the community and a great family man.He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Fern Chambers of Prairie du Chien, 2 daughters; Sara (John) Ryan of Prairie du Chien and Sandra Colleran of Pewaukee, WI, 3 sons; James Chambers of Bellevue, WA, Joe (Karen) Chabela of Pewaukee, WI and Chuck (Lorene) Chabela of LeMars, IA, 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and a brother J.C. Chambers.
