considered running for Luzerne County Recorder of Deeds but backed off when veteran officeholder Frank Castellino announced he
was seeking another term.
• 1999: When Castellino opted out of running again, Strelish
competed for the elected county row office.

• 2003: Strelish
took another shot at the county
recorder of deeds seat, winning the Democratic nomination over Joseph Infantino, who barely campaigned.
• 2005: The county Transportation Authority hired Strelish for an unadvertised position as assistant executive director for $43,000.
The position had been vacant for more than two years, and authority members said Strelish
was the only applicant.
Strelish, who attended Bloomsburg and Wilkes universities but never earned a degree, had expressed a repeated interest in the position, an authority member said at the time.
• 2006: Strelish is appointed executive director of the authority.
