C. Stan Peterson, FAIA - Stan has been co-coordinator of the Kansas Disaster Assessment Program since 1993. He led the revisions of the Disaster Assessment Manual, which divided the state into six regions with co-coordinators. With the Kansas State Division of Facilities Management, he has developed a volunteer training program that leads to state certification. Mr. Peterson also serves on the AIA Disaster Assistance Committee, is Region V director of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is on the AIA Kansas Board of Directors. Recently, Peterson has been selected to serve as the chair of a Task Force to review policies and make recommendations related to the licensure of architects during disasters for the NCARB, and is President Elect for AIA Kansas.

Stan Peterson has been elected regional director of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards at its recent annual meeting and conference in Boston.Peterson represents the council's central states conference, region 5, made up of Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Peterson is president and principal-in-charge of Peterson Architectural Group Inc., a firm based in Topeka that serves government, commercial and private sectors.He is registered to practice in Kansas, Minnesota and Missouri, and he holds the NCARB certificate for national reciprocity.
Before his election to the NCARB board, Peterson was the 2001-02 chairman of region 5.He is also the former chairman of the council's Committee on Procedures and Documents.
Peterson was appointed to the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions in 1994 and served as its chair in 2001-2002.He is a member of the American Institute Architects, both on the national and state levels.He is a state coordinator for AIA Kansas' Disaster Assistance Committee.
Peterson studied fine arts at Washburn University and later completed coursework in architecture and urban planning.
