Stacie Goldin
Educator/Research Advisor, TVOntario [Back to top] Stacie joined TVOKids back in 2002 as the Educator/Research Advisor of the TVOKids' teams. She attended York University's Urban Diversity Program where she received her Bachelor's of Education and taught in different classrooms in the GTA for 15 years. She found herself in the online learning world for a small shop researching curriculum and writing online lesson plans for grades 6-8 healthy eating and substance use and abuse subject areas, when on maternity leave with her oldest daughter. After falling in love with teaching children through media, there was no turning back! Stacie then became an Educational Consultant and worked contracts with Crabtree Publishing and KaBoom! Entertainment before finding her dream job for award-winning tvokids.com. As an educator, Stacie finds herself vetting scripts and online content for curriculum links and age-appropriateness for both preschool and school aged in-house produced resources, and ensures that all projects begin and end with a learning objective. All TVOKids content is classroom tested by Stacie, checking to make sure that the integrity of the learning objective remains intact during production and the intended outcomes have been met. Usabiltity testing is also a focus for Stacie ensuring all tvokids.com games and activities are age appropriate and user friendly.

"We've heard from kids, parents and educators that these subjects are areas of need," says Stacie Goldin, TVOKids' in-house educator/research advisor.
Goldin led the mammoth task of identifying the content appropriate for the microsite, and tagging and categorizing resources in a way that kids - and their parents - could easily find help. "As parents, we often struggle to help our kids with homework because we ourselves may have struggled in those subjects, especially math. One key objective of the site is to help parents, not just kids, better understand these subjects," she adds.
