More than a century later, Simpson Timber Company
, a subsidiary of Simpson Investment Company, is owned and managed by the fifth generation of Sol's descendants. It is still going strong, with productive timberlands and wood processing facilities in Washington, Oregon and California.Simpson
first acquired California timberlands in Del Norte County in 1945 and 1948.Additional timberlands and facilities were acquired in Humboldt County beginning in 1956, with the most recent major purchase in 1998.
