Avid Ultimate Fitness spinner and long time Mill Valley local Skip Sandberg, just published a photo book of the town's hidden steps, lanes, and paths.
We've all heard of the Dipsea steps but did you know that Mill Valley has many other hidden shortcuts?  To learn about these unique pathways, visit Skip Sandberg's website robertsandbergphoto.com, the book is called  "Steps, Lanes and Paths of Mill Valley" .  You can also read the recent IJ article here: marinij.com. When Skip is not exploring local sites and taking amazing photographs, he can be found at Ultimate Fitness, taking Sara's Thursday night 6:00 pm spin class.  Congratulations on your book Skip, and see you on Thursday! His web site has several galleries of stunning black and white photos he has taken in various locations around the world. The following is the biography from his web site: Raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Skip Sandberg came west to UCLA and settled in Mill Valley in 1977. Only 12 miles north of San Francisco and sitting at the base of 2600 ft. Mt. Tamalpais, Mill Valley is a year round paradise for outdoor activities. The Sandberg family returns annually to their home away from home at Kameole Beach on Maui. He began black and white photography as a hobby in 1975 after classes and darkroom work at St. Bartholomew's in New York City. 5/7/07 UPDATE: Skip has a new gallery of photos from his trip to Scotland last year. His photography will be shown at Marin Open Studios in Mill Valley, CA, on May 12-13, 2007.
