Scenarios USA : Watch Films : Talent Bios : Simone Lance Watch Films > Talent Bios > Simone Lance Simone Lance Simone Lance Writer, Lipstick (2002 National West Contest Winner) "The film kinda tried to break the stereotypes that a homosexual girl is always more masculine...Even if someone isn't gay they can relate to [Lipstick] on a different level. It's a common problem where if you're different you run the risk of not being accepted." - Simone Lance Simone Lance wrote Lipstick with Emily Alvarez, Roxanna Garcia, Sophia Tavernakis and Dan Barnard as peer educators for Planned Parenthood in Orange County, CA. Simone and her fellow peer educators felt that a lot of sex health education and awareness was geared towards heterosexual youth, while issues especially affecting gay and lesbian teens such as coming out and peer acceptance remained relatively unexplored. The young writers decided to tackle these subjects head-on in Lipstick, a bold decision that earned them the valuable experience of successfully overcoming community challenges to the film's content. Simone was born in Anaheim County, CA and grew up in Orange County. She moved to the Bay area to attend college, graduated in 2005, lived in South America for three months, has worked as a Doula, and looks forward to attending nursing school to become a midwife. Having majored in Development Studies, Simone's passion lies in women's health and gay and lesbian rights.
