Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Silverio Perez is a well known puertorican radio and tv host, motivational speaker, singer, musician, composer, and writer. He began his career in 1971 as host of the Wapa TV program, Borinquen Canta, and that same year he founded the political satire group Los Rayos Gamma for which he has continued to write and perform with for the last 30 years. Throughout his career Silverio has been a part of more than 25 musical projects. In 1975 he co-founded the well know puertorrican music group Haciendo Punto en Otro Son with which he has toured and recorded various albums. In 1996 he began a career as a motivational speaker and has traveled to the United States and Latin America in this capacity. The year 1998 marked his first foray into writing with his book Humortivación, which sold more than 100,000 copies. The sequel to this book, Más Humortivación, surpassed 50,000 copies sold. In 2004 he published Las Tres Tristes Tribus, the first in a new series titled El Humor Nuestro de Cada Día, followed by Desde Mi Grúa: Manual del elector aguzao. To his list of bestsellers he has added, Domesticando Tu Dinosaurio, in 2005 and Humortivacion...otra vez, in 2007. In 2009 he published Prefiero Ser Trovador, a book dedicated to the puertorrican décima, a musical form he has worked with for the last 30 years. In 2010 his fifth motivational book, Abracadabra, Buenas Palabras, was released. In april 2010, La Casa Puerto Rico en España (CAPRE) in conjunction with the Gabinete Internacional de Traducciones (GIT) awarded his weekly column work at El Nuevo Día newspaper in recognition of its influence in the Puertorrican national conscience. He was named Motivational Writer and Speaker of the Year at the 2010 Natural Choice awards and was nominated again in 2011. These awards are based on public vote and are awarded to those who have made a difference in people's lives. These days Silverio continues writing a weekly column for El Nuevo Día. Chupacabra is somewhat a legend, and is used by comedians (specifically by Silverio Perez, a Puerto Rican comedian).
It is seen by many as a spiritual thing, and they really believe Chupacabra is out there. Though he seems to have no intent to harm humans, many still fear him.
