WTNH Storm Team 8 member, Sid Starks, said although it was classified as an EF1 tornado, meaning 86 to 110 mph - mild as twisters go - it's quite lucky there were no houses or people in its path because it could have caused serious damage and injury.
said the National Weather Service
made the determination after examining the site.
Many folks with downed and uprooted trees in the area had been wondering if they were hit by a tornado, too, or a microburst, Starks
said trees are sheered in a microburst, while they are twisted by a tornado, because the tornado has a rotation.
added that with all the wetness in the ground from all the rain this season, it might not take much in some cases to uproot a tree.
