Professor at Dept of Energy Sc & Engineering, IIT- Bombay Dr. Shireesh Kedare is adjunct professor at Dept of Energy Sc & Engg, IIT-Bombay (Indian Institute of Technology) and Director, Clique Developments Ltd. He has been associated with several organizations including CTARA, IIT Bombay, Students for Development (a voluntary organization), Vivekananda Gram-Vikas Prakalpa, Latur, Society for Advancement of Renewable Materials and Energy Technologies (SARMET), and others. Since 2001, he has been associated with IIT Bombay and Clique Developments Ltd. He has helped the team to develop, fabricate and install ARUN160, a Solar Concentrator with 169 sq.m aperture to generate thermal energy at medium temperatures of up to 250 degree Celsius for industrial process heat. Dr. Kedare is a part of the team working at IIT-Bombay on development of a megawatt scale solar thermal power plant having short-time thermal storage with his focus on solar collector field design, technology selection and implementation, development of PFD and PID along with control philosophy. He has earned B.Tech. and Ph.D. both from IIT, Bombay.

Shireesh Kedare is Director of Clique Developments Ltd, Mumbai and is an Adjunct Professor at the Depertment of Energy Science & Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay . He holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT-Bombay and a Ph.D. from the same institute.
Dr Kedare played a pivotal role in the research and development of ARUN solar Fresnel concentrating reflector with cavity receiver . Over the years, ARUN solar thermal system has increased its size and capacity and today’s version of the system, ARUN160 is equipped with a giant concentrator of 169 sq.m aperture area capable of yielding thermal energy at a temperature level of 250 oC. He is also working on applications of solar concentrator technology for a variety of industrial processes. Hybrid systems with a mix of renewable sources and batteries, is another focus of his work.
