The application to the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services is for $26,989.50.
The grant period is from Jan. 1, 2009, to Dec. 3, 2009, according to Price.The legal advocate works with adult victims of domestic violence.
Homesafe Inc. will provide the 25 percent match of $6,747 from its operational funds, including from the United Way, donations and private foundation sources, Price wrote in a memo to the commissioners.

Price said the agency has an operating budget of nearly $400,000 for this year.In addition to the federal grants, which are being cut, the shelter board receives other funds from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services, United Way combined federal campaign, private donations from the public and fundraisers held by the agency for its operations.
Price said more bad news came this week when President Bush's administration announced the Fiscal Year '09 federal budget.

Price said the shelter board of trustees were forced to close the rape crisis program in 2006 because of a lack of funds.
"If a rape victim calls our hotline, we refer them to the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center or the Rape Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN).It's even gets worse if local hospitals no longer have special trained sexual assault nurses to handle a rape victim.This shelter helps women from all levels of economic status," she said.
Price said despite the anticipated cuts, the staff is continuing its outreach programs to the public and schools.
