After launching the business with his wife Shelly, it became clear that there was a national demand for the services that BrightStar was providing in Lake County, IL, and thus BrightStar Franchising was born. Leading the franchise development effort, JD built the system by adding 9 units the first year, and 19 units the second year. Working closely with brokers and utilizing geographic targeting for markets open for expansion, JD continues to build BrightStar as the company becomes a national household name. JD received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Knox College and his MBA from Loyola University in Chicago. Prior to BrightStar, he was a stock trader in Chicago.
