At Monday night's Town Board meeting, Supervisor Sheila M. Meegan made a motion to reject all bids for the totes received on May 31.
The motion was unanimously approved. "We only received two bids, which we found unusual," she said. About five or six days later, she said, the town received letters from competitors interested in bidding stating that they never received the bid packages. Meegan said bid specifications were sent out to all interested companies, and the town has the letters on record that it sent out. The town will rebid the totes, setting a date of 10 a.m. July 8. "It won't put us back more than a couple of weeks," Meegan said of the rebid. Meegan told Leising that the board has met with DiLoreto. Meegan said that despite conversations with DiLoreto, Denz, Town Attorney Shawn P. Martin and the state Department of Environmental Conservation, nothing has yet been implemented.
