Shederick Whipple, tenor, is Professor of Voice and Director of Opera at Taylor University.Dr. Whipple has the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mercer University (Macon, GA), cum laude, Master of Music from the University of Kentucky, and Doctor Musical Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Music.His
honors include Excellence in Performance Awards from Mercer University
and awards from the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition
.In opera, Dr. Whipple
has performed as Rinucio in Gianni Schicchi (Puccini), Edwin in Trial by Jury (Gilbert and Sullivan) and Bill in A Hand of Bridge (Barber).
In oratorio, Dr. Whipple
has performed as soloist in Requiem (Mozart), Lord Nelson Mass (Haydn), Messiah (Handel), and other works.He
