Shawn has worked in investor relations since 1993, serving as head of IR for two companies, within the IR function at two others, and in a consulting capacity to nine client companies.
Most recently at PREIT
updated the companyâ€™s message, ensured its consistent delivery across all channels, and authored more than 100 news releases, nearly 50 investor presentations, more than 20 quarterly earnings scripts, and six annual reports.
Prior to PREIT, he was the IRO for EPIQ Systems, in Kansas City, where in one year, his institutional targeting and outreach efforts resulted in a 25% increase in the number of institutional holders and shares held.
But more importantly, the new positions acquired effectively offset the potential negative impact to share price of the companyâ€™s second largest holder liquidated their entire position.
Prior to EPIQ, he built a consulting partnership that served pre-IPO and small-cap clients, as well as IR service providers, during its four years of operation.
Before that, Shawn
successfully designed and implemented the first IR
program for U.S. Interactive following their IPO.
In his first year, he tripled analyst coverage, nearly doubled institutional ownership, produced the companyâ€™s first annual report, and managed communications through a series of crises including stock exchange delisting, multiple executive departures, a corporate change of control, and bankruptcy.
Before U.S. Interactive, he served as managing director for Financial Communications Associates (FCA), an IR consulting firm, where he managed five client accounts and oversaw the firmâ€™s daily operations, including third party services.
Prior to FCA, Shawn got his start in IR as part of a comprehensive, in-house team at Advanta Corporation, where he learned the fundamentals of investor relations and held several positions of increasing responsibility.
has also served the NIRI Philadelphia Chapter Board on-and-off since 2000.
He held four officer positions including Chapter Vice President before leaving the Philadelphia area late in 2004.
Then, in 2010, he
was asked to rejoin the Board as Chapter Vice President.
In June 2011, Shawn was elected Chapter President.
first one-year term, the chapter held an all-time high, twelve events, finished the year with a budget surplus, and was recognized nationally, receiving an unprecedented four national awards, including Best Overall Chapter, and Shawn was recognized with an individual leadership award.
He was subsequently elected Chapter President for a second term ending June 2013, and currently serves as an Advisory Board member.
A graduate of the University of Delaware in Newark, DE, Shawn holds a bachelor of science in business administration.
He earned his MBA in finance from Drexel University.
