Shawn Aaron MD, FRCPC
Dr. Shawn Aaron is the senior scientist of Clinical Epidemiology at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI), a professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and the Division Head of Respiratory Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital. Dr. Aaron received his M.D.C.M. from McGill University, then trained in internal medicine, respiratory medicine, and critical care medicine at The University of Toronto. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in epidemiology from the University of Ottawa. Dr. Aaron's research and clinical interests lie primarily in COPD*, asthma and cystic fibrosis. His research focusses on investigating acute pulmonary exacerbations of these diseases, with a specific interest in the critical assessment of interventions designed to prevent exacerbations and improve the diagnosis and treatment of exacerbations of COPD. His other major research area involves the microbiology, pathophysiology, and treatment of CF* exacerbations.
