Pitching with a Purpose: Drills to Become a Dominant Pitcher Bas
Baseball Videos offers the Pitching with a Purpose: Drills to Become a Dominant Pitcher Baseball DVD with Andy Lopez and Shaun Cole.
Shaun Cole is the University of Arizona's Pitching Coach and won the 2012 Collegiate Baseball National Pitching Coach of the Year Award. The 2012 National Championship Team, The Arizona Wildcats, set a number of records on the pitching mound. In Pitching with a Purpose: Drills to Become a Dominant Pitcher Baseball DVD, Coach Lopez and Coach Cole share their views on what it takes to become a great pitcher and dominant. You will get a unique opportunity to listen in on a bullpen session with Coach Cole as he stresses to the pitchers to focus on one of their own specific skills daily. He reinforces them to use visualization techniques and correct breathing so that they can be more focused.
"There's more gratification with this one," said outgoing 18U national team director Shaun Cole, who was hired by the Padres as a roving pitching coordinator in September.
"Amditis reminded me of David Ross," Cole said. Cole and Cecchini both praised the players for responding to the staff and heaped extra praise on Eric Cressey, who accompanied the team as a strength-and-conditioning coach but did much more. Cecchini said, "Shaun getting him to travel with us was invaluable. And Cole added, "Whatever it took to help, he did." That was the case for the 18U program, again. Whoever replaces Cole will inherit a program with high standards-and three consecutive gold medals. "The dynamics of this year's team, nobody stepped forward and became a leader," Cole said. Assistant Coach: University of Arizona Shaun Cole, named the 2012 Collegiate Baseball National Pitching Coach of the Year, enters his fourth season as an assistant coach at Arizona after helping the Wildcats win their fourth national championship and a share of the Pac-12 title in 2012. Cole, who previously served as the program's director of operations in 2009 before being named pitching coach, also assists in recruiting, team scheduling, travel coordination, and various other duties within the program. In his three seasons as pitching coach, Cole has guided three of the school's most successful staffs. Wildcat pitchers have won 121 games, tossed 25 complete games and registered 1,324 strikeouts while walks have decreased over each of the last three seasons. With a 3.57 earned run average in 2011 and a 3.70 ERA in 2012, Cole's last two staffs have turned in the lowest season totals at the school since 1978. In 2012, Cole developed the Wildcats' staff into one of the best in the nation.

Shaun Cole — Director, 18U National Team Program Shaun Cole was named the director of the USA Baseball 18U National Team program in June 2014. In this role, Cole will oversee the USA Baseball 18U National Team program, including the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars presented by Major League Baseball, and the 17U National Team Identification Series -- the primary selection vehicles for the 18U National Team. Additionally, Cole will be responsible for hiring national-team and event coaching staffs, hosting national-team trials and training, and serving as the head of the U.S. delegation at 18U international baseball events. Prior to joining USA Baseball, Cole served as the pitching coach for the University of Arizona for five seasons. In his time in Tucson, Cole led some of the most successful pitching staffs in school history, culminating in 2012 when the Wildcats won the Pac-12 title, and, ultimately, the College World Series title.
"Trenton Clark really stepped up as the leader of this team and separated himself," 18U director Shaun Cole said.
"The way the team, players and coaches from all around the country, came together was tremendous," Cole said. "There wasn't anything Clark didn't do," Cole said.
