"There's about 67,000 children in Kentucky as of today that are eligible for KCHIP that aren't enrolled, so that's why we're trying to get the people to enroll in the program," said Sharon Dunaway, with the Kentucky River District Health Department.
She says the possibility of helping an additional 11,000 children through KCHIP is a good thing. "As a registered nurse it means that children are going to get childcare that wouldn't normally maybe see a doctor," she said.
