Our teacher Shakmah Winddrum believed in being spiritual at all times, whether in high magickal ceremonies or in any aspects of your life. She used to say, "Don't leave your spirituality at the door".
Shakmah received communications from different sources and shared them with all of us. It could be channeled messages from her Guides and Masters who contacted her constantly, or it could be information she received through the media.
In many of her workshops, Shakmah invited us to take a deep look at our belief systems, how much of whom we are is imbedded by our parents, teachers, preachers, priests, friends, relatives and spouses, society? Upon thorough self examination, you are taking the first steps of unshackling one's self from societal agreements and begin to shift your consciousness.
Shakmah knew that "when we become fixed, not willing to move or shift, when we become stabilized, there's some part of us that starts to deteriorate.
Shakmah said, "Change is God".
And it was through her that I met Shakmah in 1981.

As our Teacher Shakmah Winddrum has taught in the workshops at the New Seed Sanctuary, we all can connect with the energies of the earth and Nature and the energies of Spirit.
As with any other path, whether spiritual or magickal, shamanism requires learning from a teacher. It takes work, discipline, humbleness, courage and faith.
Following are some exercises that Shakmah Winddrum has recommended for the beginners in the Shaman's path.
And it was through her that I met Shakmah in 1981.

But we know the truth and for those of us who have had the privilege to have our lives touched by the Master Teacher and Elder, Shakmah Winddrum, we feel the stories touch and awaken areas that have long since slept; our hearts quicken for seemingly no reason and we burst into tears as veils become translucent. She weaves for us the memories from times long past that are held in the far reaches of the group mind, touching on cosmology and the beginnings of the first times when the gods and goddesses walked with human kind.Shakmah charges us to uphold a standard of ethics, cutting through our personality-induced delusion, sense of self-importance and false pride
