Selma M. Lussenburg is Vice President, Governance, Corporate Safety and Security, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (Toronto Pearson International Airport). n this role, Ms. Lussenburg has responsibility for governance, security and corporate safety at the GTAA providing advice and direction to the Board of Directors, the executive team and the organization on governance, regulatory, policy compliance, security and corporate safety matters. Toronto Pearson is Canada’s largest airport, with in excess of $1 billion in annual revenues, $6 billion in publicly traded debt and serving in excess of 38.5 million passengers each year.
Ms. Lussenburg serves on the Board of Governors of Alert, an Airport and Critical Infrastructure Security Centre of Excellence. Ms. Lussenburg Also serves as a Canadian representative to the Trade Ministers’ NAFTA 2022 Advisory Committee on the Resolution of Private International Commercial Disputes and is the Canadian Chair of the NAFTA 2022 transportation sectoral working group.
From 2011-2014, Ms. Lussenburg served as Chair of the Ontario Capital Growth Corporation, the Ontario government’s venture capital and private equity investment business. Ms. Lussenburg is a former member of the Advisory Board of the Canadian Innovation Exchange (CIX), and a former Member of the Canada-U.S. Law Institute Advisory Board and Executive Committee.
Previously Ms. Lussenburg was Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer, and Corporate Secretary at OMERS, one of Canada’s largest public pension plans with over $50 billion in investments in infrastructure, private equity, real estate and the public markets. Ms. Lussenburg also served as Vice President, Legal Affairs and General Counsel and as AT&T’s Chief Regional Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer and Corporate Secretary at AT&T Enterprises and AT&T Global Services; and has practiced law with the firms of Borden, Ladner, Gervais; Fasken Martineau, and Allen, Arthur, Robinson (Australia).
