“There were definitely some things we could build on,” Scappoose Coach Sean McNabb said. “We made a lot of mistakes and have some things to fix as well. Still, being down 42-14 and coming back to chip away says a lot about our guys. Offensively we had over 400 yards of offense.”
McNabb said Roosevelt’s quickness was hard to combat at times.

What we want to do offensively is score a lot of points,” McNabb said.
That quick scoring ability could help them against a team like Estacada.

"I feel like we were just better prepared," Scappoose coach Sean McNabb said. "We played with a ton more enthusiasm than last week and were just much more physical."
He added, "If you can start a football game by scoring on the first play or just start by being explosive on offense or very physical on defense you can dictate the tempo of the game."
The Indians got two touchdown runs from Stutzer in the second quarter, and a three-yard plunge from Darone Jacob near the end of the half.
"We did a good job on both sides of the ball. We stopped their running game," McNabb said.

"Tillamook is a team that is improving every week," McNabb said. "They like to run the football and were able to hang in there with Astoria. I think they were only down 28-27 at the half. McNabb added. "They were able to move the ball up and down the field against them. They're not going to be a pushover like they have been in the past when we were able to score a lot of points. This is a different team."
McNabb likes the idea that the game will be on the artificial turf at Tillamook, thinking it gives Scappoose a good chance to display their speed.

We did not play well as a team; we did not prepare the team well as coaches," McNabb said.
He noted that Banks has given the Indians problems for the last four years, but that Scappoose still had been in each of those games.
Friday, Banks scored the first two times they had the ball, while Scappoose went three and out. An interception deep in Scappoose territory to start the second quarter resulted in a quick Banks turn around for a touchdown. Banks would make it 28-0 with another tally just before the half.
McNabb didn't blame the officials for Scappoose's problems.
...
"We have to toughen up during adverse times-one of the most important things is how you respond to it," McNabb said.
...
Some of our kids have done some great things," McNabb said.
