Scott Tweedy is one of them.
Tweedy, 30, is a volunteer fireman for the Causey and Dora Fire Departments, as well as an EMT. He graduated from Clovis High in 2001 and Eastern New Mexico University in 2005, as well as attaining his basic EMT from Clovis Community College, where he is now studying to receive his advanced EMT. Tweedy was a full-time firefighter for the Clovis Fire Department, but said his ultimate goal is to become a paramedic. "I really love helping people; that's the best part about my job," he said. Tweedy has lent his skills to assist in emergency situations of all kinds, from grass and house fires to vehicle accidents. Tweedy admits that without his wife Janay, it'd be impossible for him to be able to serve as a full-time EMT as well as an unpaid volunteer fireman. "Scott is very dedicated to the fire and ambulance service and is very good at what he does," Clark said.
