Scott Slocum
Scott Slocum has been in the radio business for more than two decades. For the past 11 years he has been providing listeners in the greater Joliet and Will County region with his unique perspective on local news, politics and sports as the popular host of 1340 WJOL's morning show.
Scott understands the importance of local radio and the impact a local radio show can have on the community. That is why his morning show is where people in Will County turn for fast and accurate information about every local event, whether it's a weather-related disaster, a developing political story, election results or the accomplishments of a student athlete. He is a trusted voice who covers every side of a story.
Scott is also immersed in his community, lending his support and involvement to countless worthwhile civic and charitable events and boards each year. He serves his community as a trustee on the Channahon Village Board, as a vice president for People for Channahon Parks and as a member of the Will County Children's Advocacy Center's Board of Directors. He also coaches youth basketball, soccer and baseball, and he conducts youth basketball clinics.
He has been honored as United Cerebral Palsy of Illinois Melvin Larson Man of the Year and as the Village of Channahon's Citizen of the Year. He has received the Joliet Park District Community Service Award and has been designated a Joliet Catholic Academy Honorary Alumnus.
Scott is a 1988 graduate of North Central College in Naperville with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communications and a Minor in Business Administration. He is a 1984 graduate of East Peoria High School. Scott and his wife Roxanne are the proud parents of two children, Scottie and Emily.
