SEAVER CONSTRUCTION : ABOUT SEAVER
About Scott Seaver
Scott L. Seaver is a licensed builder in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and has been involved in construction since 1980. Scott is a graduate of Northeast Regional Vocational School Carpentry Program and Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. He was a Gold Medal Winner in the Vocational Skills Olympics. Scott has been the president of Seaver Construction, Inc. since 1985.
Seaver rushed to prepare the stadium for last October's grand opening, leaving the final touches for afterward.
Scott Seaver, owner of Seaver Construction, said he expects the work to be finished within two months. "I know all the major stuff has been done," he said. Seaver said the major outstanding issues have to do with masonry waterproofing and doors and hardware. "It's not something we can run out there and do," he said. Seaver said he isn't happy with the delay and that his crews are working to finish the job as quickly as they can. "We all want the same thing," he said. "We want to wrap this up and be done with it." The stadium, at 475 Union Ave., which was renamed the Bowditch Field Cultural and Athletic Complex, received a major overhaul after Town Meeting approval in 2008. Seaver began work in fall 2009, demolishing and replacing the crumbling concrete grandstands, which were built in 1935 under the Works Progress Administration, with new, handicapped-accessible metal stands.
Seaver Construction president Scott Seaver hired a consultant to visit the ESF site and review the BEA report.
"When Seaver comes back with their response to the building envelope consultant's report we know they're going to acknowledge some of it and reject some of it, and we need to decide where we stand on some of those issues and how we move forward," Mr. Schilling told the selectmen. And all of those costs need to be negotiated between Tisbury and Seaver. "And so from our standpoint, to be requesting favors at this point, we're not in a position as a committee to be getting anything from Seaver, unfortunately."
