Regions' Chief Marketing Officer, Scott Peters, succeeds Owen as head of Consumer Services
Scott Peters joined the company in 2004 as chief marketing officer.Prior to joining Regions, he served as executive vice president of Fidelity Personal Investments, as well as director of Mass Market Retail Banking at KeyCorp.He began his banking career with Citibank where he ultimately served as director of U.S. Core Product Marketing.Peters holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Feb 14, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE: RF) today announced that John Buchanan, general counsel and corporate secretary, and Scott Peters, chief marketing officer, have been named senior executive vice presidents.
Peters serves as the Chief Marketing Officer for Regions and manages Business Banking and Private Banking Product Management, Brand Management and Advertising, Marketing Communications, Deposit Strategy and Consumer Product Management, and Research and Analysis. Prior to joining Regions in 2004, Peters served as executive vice president of Fidelity Personal Investments, and he also held positions with KeyCorp as director of Mass Market Retail Banking and National Sales manager.Peters began his banking career in 1987 with Citibank, where he opened and managed a de novo branch, ultimately serving as director of U.S. Core Product Marketing. Peters holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut.
