In efforts to deepen its expertise as a leader in equine and cattle health, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI) announces Dr. Scott King as the new director of the U.S. Cattle Marketing team, and Amanda McAvoy as senior associate director of the U.S. Equine Marketing team.
"Scott and Amanda bring excellent leadership experience to their new positions," states Steve Boren, executive director of the U.S. Cattle and Equine Business Segments for BIVI.
Dr. King previously served as the senior associate director of Equine Marketing, and brings 15 years of marketing expertise to his new position.
Prior to beginning his career at BIVI, Dr. King also held marketing roles at Land O'Lakes-Purina Feed as well as at Bayer Animal Health as marketing manager of Equine and Pet Products.
Before his marketing career, Dr. King practiced veterinary medicine for 10 years after graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Scott King, DVM, is currently the Equine Products Manager at Bayer Animal Health where he oversees the development and management of all equine products and promotions.
He is a graduate of the University Of Missouri College Of Veterinary Medicine.
was in private equine practice for 10 years in St. Louis, Missouri prior to going to work for Purina Mills
While at Purina Mills he managed the Equine Research Facility and many of the well known equine brands.
wife were Whips with Meramec Valley Hunt, members with Bridlespur Hunt in St. Louis and currently enjoy riding with Mission Valley Hunt in Kansas City.
wife Tawny, are both actively involved in Boy Scouting with their sons Tristan and Quinlan.
The preservation of land, restoration of habitat and the education of others on these key issues are important to Scott
family as they enjoy the wildlife, canoeing, horseback riding and hiking on their family farm in Missouri.
