Scott Godino, CEO
...
Scott Godino established The Equity Group in 1980 and serves as its chief executive officer. Scott offers his clients expertise derived from over 30 years of national and local real estate and brokerage experience. A visionary in his field, Scott prides himself and The Equity Group on exceptional service, solidity and ability to perform in a competitive marketplace.
After pursuing his education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Scott served as assistant vice president of sales for Real Corporation before creating The Equity Group. Under his guidance, The Equity Group quickly became a leader in Las Vegas' burgeoning real estate market. From 1984 to 1990, Scott functioned as principal of one of the largest full-service real estate offices in Las Vegas at the time, Interwest Commercial Real Estate Network. In 1998, Scott became a principal in Triad Development. He was instrumental in the development of four major projects, two retail shopping centers and two Class A office parks including: Shoppes at Canyon Pointe Phase I and II; Green Valley Auto; Hills Center Business Park Phase I and II; and Mountain View Professional Park Phase I and II.
From 1988-1992, Scott served as the western real estate manager for Circuit City Stores, Inc. becoming its exclusive broker from 1992-2004. He completed over 400 transactions for Circuit City in every major market west of the Mississippi including the Chicago and New York metro areas. Closing numerous transactions has enabled him to shed light on almost any situation seen in a real estate deal. Scott's tenure was so extensive because he was recognized as always having very high integrity and always keeping his clients' best interest at heart. This has enabled The Equity Group to have great relationships with almost every major player in real estate throughout the country. From developers to private equity, investment and brokerage firms, the respect for Scott has turned into a constant referral source for The Equity Group.
After his 20-year career of helping Circuit City expand, Scott refocused on taking The Equity Group to its highest level. Although the management department always remained strong in Las Vegas while Scott was with Circuit City, it was in 2005 that The Equity Group's brokerage department was put on the map again. This department now has twenty-one brokers and continues to increase its market share at a rapid pace. The company goal is not to be the biggest brokerage house in the valley but rather a family of intelligent individuals that all rely and care for each other's growth and success.
Scott is a member of several organizations that are associated with the real estate and property management industry.

Local business owners share their stories, debunk notion that Nevada is a 'business-friendly state' | Nevada Journal
nevadajournal.com, 6 Feb 2013 [cached]
Scott Godino, Jr., owner of the Born and Raised Las Vegas bar, also spent months fighting local government. Like Arshakuni, whose business earned most of its revenue at night, Godino found his bar also would do best during the late night "graveyard" hours. That made it imperative for him to get the 2 a.m-6 a.m. hours of operation restriction on his location lifted.
"I had to spend upwards of $20,000 in attorney's fees, just to get something like that lifted," he said.
Godino had numerous meetings with the Clark County Board of Commissioners about lifting the ordinance, but he discovered too many of the local representatives were more interested in political posturing than in helping him out.
"A lot of [politicians] campaign on being business-friendly, but they don't really do it," he said.
...
Mr. Godino also corrected he met with Clark County commissioners and the Planning Commission, not the City of Las Vegas as originally stated.
