Mr. Scott Dorney
Scott Dorney has served as the Executive Director of the North Carolina Military Business Center since December 1, 2004.
A statewide component of the Community College System, the NCMBC
is a business development organization that connects businesses to federal contracts, connects military and other jobseekers to employment and helps recruit defense contractors to North Carolina.
Since opening in 2005, the NCMBC
has supported North Carolina businesses in winning over 1,710 contracts for $3.7 billion to $12.0 billion.
Originally from Allentown, PA, Scott
graduated from The Citadel in 1977.
He also received a Masters in International Affairs Degree from Columbia University in 1988.
Prior to joining the NCMBC, Scott served for six years as the Chief Officer for Support Services for the City of Fayetteville and nearly 22 years on active duty in the US Army.
A field artillery and Foreign Area Officer, his
numerous assignments included two tours in Greece, three years as an attaché at the US Embassy
in Nicosia, Cyprus, and as an artillery officer in the Persian Gulf War.
His final assignment was at Fort Bragg, where he served as the Civil Military Operations staff officer (G5) for XVIII Airborne Corps and as Deputy Garrison Commander of Fort Bragg.
