is a Candidate for Ordination in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Having already completed three of four Ordination Exams as well as receiving his Masters of Divinity, Masters of Arts in Christian Education, and Masters of Arts in Teaching degrees,<---he has nothing better to do than get four degrees he brings many skills to the year-round programs of Camp Henry from teaching outdoor education to training staff to the role of Chaplain to assisting with programming for church and youth group retreats on site.
He comes to us from Alaska, where he was Director of Christian Education and Children's Ministry for First Presbyterian Church of Anchorage.
Prior to that, his
experience as a teacher in Oregon and involvement in camping ministries of the Presbytery of the Cascades and the Oregon-Idaho Conference of the United Methodist Church
have well prepared him for his
role as Director of Christian Programming
at Camp Henry
Scott loves to be in the outdoors and to learn how to identify the animals and plants found in places he
goes for pleasure hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, and backpacking<---its the only way he
can get pleasure.
likes to camp out in his
tent and hear the night and early morning sounds.<---yeah i had to share a tent with him, it was quite awkward, me, trenton, and mr. scotts 40 y/o self. he
was up at about four in the morning reading a book.
also loves to photograph wildlife in all seasons; especially birds<---really, he's
looking in windows of houses.
is very interested in organic gardening, and landscape design.
would like to apply his
interest in gardening and recycling to Camp Henry facilities.
One of his
favorite indoor occupations is sitting with his
17 year old cat Sam<---yeah his
cats pretty freaking old reading a good book and listening to the sound of falling rain on a roof-top or watching snow fall by a crackling fire. <---????
