The Essex Library is honored to welcome Dr. Sarah Wiliarty who will give a talk on Winning Peace: Lessons from Post-War Policies, 1945-1950 at the Essex Library on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. This program is part of the librarys focus on history during the month of February.

Sarah Wiliarty is an Associate Professor of Government at Wesleyan University. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. in Physics from Harvard University. Her book, The CDU and the Politics of Gender in Germany: Bringing Women to the Party was published by Cambridge University Press in 2010.

Dr. Sarah E. Wiliarty is an Assistant Professor of Government at Wesleyan University, where she specializes in western European politics. Dr. Wiliarty's research investigates how Christian Democratic parties have had to reformulate their policies in response to changing demands from women. Dr. Wiliarty completed her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
