Sara Murphy, Board Member, Publicity and Development
has a long history with the arts and culture scene in Worcester having held positions at the Worcester Art Museum
and Higgins Armory Museum
before transitioning into the field of legal marketing and business development.
While at the Higgins, Sara was fortunate to be involved with the Worcester Cultural Coalition, serving as co-chair of their Promoting Arts & Culture (PAC) Committee, representing the Museum at the Central MA Museums Marketing Collaborative (CMMMC).
More recently, she
co-founded the City of Worcester's
Cultural Ambassador program, aimed at recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers to promote the City's arts organizations and initiatives at local and regional events.
also serves as Secretary of the Worcester Arts Council
(WAC), a municipal board appointed by the City Manager to further arts in the community and to distribute nearly $100k in grant monies.
played piano from elementary through high school, and played flute in marching and stage bands while in elementary, junior high and senior high schools.
She is a 1999 graduate of Emerson College in Boston, MA with a BS in Communications Management and Public Relations, currently works in Marketing and Business Development at the law firm of Bowditch & Dewey LLP (in its Worcester, Framingham and Boston offices), and lives in Worcester, MA.
