Mr. Sanjiv Paul, a Metallurgical Engineer from RIT Jamshedpur, joined Tata Steel as a graduate trainee in 1986.
When Tata Steel engaged M/s McKinsey for the enhancement of the Total Operational Performance (TOP), Mr. Paul got the opportunity of leading this initiative from early 2000 to late 2001.
On 1st Dec 2001, Mr. Paul
was placed as Principal Executive Officer (PEO) to the then Managing Director of Tata Steel
, Mr. B. Muthuraman.
In November 2003, Mr Paul became its first Managing Director, a position that he held till 31st March 2010.
With effect from 1st April 2010, Mr. Paul has been appointed the Vice President (Corporate Services) for Tata Steel.
During his tenure as MD, JUSCO, Mr. Sanjiv Paul was instrumental in positioning JUSCO as India's only comprehensive urban infrastructure service provider with a special focus on the Water sector.
Mr. Sanjiv Paul received the award at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, from the Hon'ble President of India, Smt Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, on August 13, 2009.
