has named Sandra Johnigan
the recipient of its 2004 Forensic & Litigation Services Volunteer of the Year Award. Johnigan
, who operates her
own litigation consulting and forensic investigation practice in Dallas, earned the award both for her
contributions to the field and her
service to the Institute."Sandy has been an enthusiastic advocate of forensic and litigation services as a practice discipline for CPAs," said Anat Kendal, AICPA Director of Financial Planning and Business Valuation/Forensic & Litigation Services.
"As a volunteer member of Institute committees and task forces, she
has helped educate many CPAs about this important area."Johnigan began her career at Arthur Young & Company, a predecessor firm of Ernst & Young.As an audit partner, she served financial services and real estate clients.
As the owner of her
own firm since 1990, she
has provided expert testimony and conducted case management for law firms.She
has also performed forensic investigations for the U.S. Department of Justice
.Johnigan is completing a three-year term as Chair of the AICPA Forensic & Litigation Services Committee and is currently a member of the Institute's Business Valuation and Forensic & Litigation Executive Committee.She is a new member of the AICPA Council and is a past chair of the AICPA Savings and Loan Committee and AICPA National Conference on Advanced Litigation Services.Johnigan holds a degree in accounting from the University of Tulsa and is licensed as a CPA in Oklahoma, Texas and New York.
