Sandra Howe Sandra Howe Senior Vice President, Strategic Market Development ARRIS Sandra Howe's responsibilities as SVP of Strategic Market Development at ARRIS are focused on the strategic initiatives of North American Cable Operators. She assists the Product Development and Sales Teams to help cable operators continue to grow through the launch of new technologies and products including DOCSIS 3.0, MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding, IP Video Targeted Ad Insertion, advanced transport networks, innovative network monitoring tools, Hybrid Video Gateways, IP settops, wireless networks and data and voice cable modems. She coordinates long range product and business strategy for North American Operators within ARRIS and regularly consults with senior staff at a number of major MSOs. Prior to ARRIS, Howe worked in several positions for 10 years at Cisco (and the former Scientific Atlanta organization) supporting the company's largest customer, Time Warner Cable. During this time, Howe served in various roles including Director of Business Development, Strategic Account Markets Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Senior Account Manager. Howe helped Time Warner Cable launch many new technologies including switched digital video (SDV), Digital Simulcast, digital video recorder (DVR), high-definition (HD) set-tops, high speed data and voice cable modems. Prior to joining Cisco/Scientific Atlanta in 1999, Howe served as Regional Account Executive for Broadband Networks Inc. in State College, PA, helping various cable operators deploy specialized voice, video and data networks. Howe currently serves on the National Board of Directors of Women in Cable Telecommunications and is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. She is a regular speaker at industry conferences and is the recipient of numerous awards, including CableFAX's Top Women in Technology and Multichannel News' Women to Watch.
