Samuel Ingersoll-Weng is Executive Director of the Barrio Logan College Institute.Sam is well known for his work in developing innovative youth programs and advocating for the "sharing" of resources and best practices between non-profit organizations.Sam recently joined BLCI after serving Harmonium for five years as the Director of Communications, Director of Development, and Director of Epicentre, the San Diego Regional Teen Center.Prior to joining Harmonium, Sam worked with the Detwiler Foundation Computer for Schools Program and the City Heights Community Development Corporation where he was responsible for community organizing, the International Village Celebration, and the Orchid Award-winning Alleys Reclaimed by Kids Art project.He is an alumni of the Chicano Federation's Leadership Training Institute, LEAD San Diego, and is a Eureka/Waitt Fellow in the Eureka Communities leadership program.Sam moved to San Diego in 1994 and joined the L.I.S.C. During the last four years, Sam consulted for a variety of top real estate, financial services, and network marketing companies. He is currently building the technology infrastructure that will help The Kendra Todd Group become a top 10 national real estate team within a matter of a few years. Prior to joining KTG, Sam was a real estate agent focusing on luxury homes and investment properties. After graduation from Yale University in 1994, Sam also had a ten year career with a number of San Diego non-profit organizations, including serving as Executive Director of the Barrio Logan College Institute, Development Director of Harmonium, and the AmeriCorps National Service Program. Sam's true passion is helping families with children with disabilities and promoting adoption. The loves of his life are Gabriel, his 12 year old son with Down Syndrome, adopted daughter Emma, his new baby boy Ethan, and his wife when she isn't fussing at him to, "get off the computer. Partnership to Donate 500 Surplus Computers to San Diego's After School Programs
"The exciting part of this program is that high school students receiving computer technology training through Epicentre receive hands-on experience in a project that benefits the entire community of San Diego," said Samuel Ingersoll-Weng, Director of the Epicentre. The Epicentre will refurbish 10 computers a week over the next year, as part of the partnership with the Futures Foundation.
