Biography of Founder and President Rev. Samuel Doctorian
Samuel Doctorian is an Armenian. Like all other Armenian families, his family suffered in the massacres by the Turks in 1915. His father and mother were young children at this time, and they both lost both parents, barbarously slaughtered because they would not deny Christ. SamuelÂ's parents escaped the massacre, and were later brought up in a Mission Orphanage. Samuel was born in 1930 in the city of Beirut. When he was six years old, his parents moved to Jerusalem, where they lived until the war in 1948, when for the second time they lost everything and became refugees. When he was nine years old, Samuel became a committed Christian as he stood at the place where Jesus died. It was there he resolved that his whole life would be lived for Christ. Coming from a poor family, at the age of fourteen, he could not continue his schooling, and began to work in a shoe-makerÂ's shop. It was while working in the shop in Old Jerusalem that the Lord called him to the ministry - he was sixteen years old. A year later he began his theological studies at Hurlet Nazarene College near Glasgow, in Scotland. After graduation, he was ordained in 1951. Later that year he returned to the Middle East and began his ministry in Jerusalem, later moving to Amman, Jordan. He was married in April, 1952 to Naomi Pashgian. Samuel and Naomi have five children and four grandchildren.

In the month of October 1952, Samuel Doctorian was called by the Lord to start evangelistic work throughout the Middle East - living by faith as he was not sponsored by any denomination. He was used by the Holy Spirit to bring Revival to Aleppo, Beirut, Cyprus and Damascus, and when he went to Egypt he had a revival ministry all over the land that brought tens of thousands to Christ. As a result of a vision, he began the Bible Land Mission in 1959. The Lord has used him in many countries all over the Middle East, Europe, North and South America and other parts of the world to bring a breath of revival. He has led people of all walks of life to the Lord, from Eastern refugees to a European princess. He has been to over 125 countries of the world in all seven Continents. From Beirut and Jerusalem, Samuel Doctorian seeks to spread the Gospel over the Bible Lands by every possible means, and extend his revival ministry around the world. He has preached for every one of the larger Protestant denominations, and in many Catholic and Orthodox churches too. On two occasions he has preached to Members of Parliament in the House of Commons in London. He is undoubtedly a preacher anointed by the Holy Spirit, and as he preaches with such fervor and power there is always a ready response in his hearers to the Word of God. His messages are colored with vivid illustrations from his personal experiences in many parts of the world. In addition to the unction of the Holy Spirit, Samuel Doctorian exercises a ministry of healing that has brought positive help to many thousands. This autobiography, Â"The Life Story of Samuel Doctorian begins at CalvaryÂ" has sold in the thousands, in many languages around the world.

"Christians in Beirut are hungry after the intense 34-day bombardment of Lebanon by Israel in July," said Samuel Doctorian, founder and director of Bible Land Mission (www.biblelandmission.org), which has headquarters in Beirut.
Founded in 1956, the Pasadena, Calif.-based ministry operates two evangelistic centers in Beirut that minister to Arabs and Armenians, offering worship services in both languages. The mission also owns a 140-room center near Beirut called Peniel, which houses a Christian day school with 400 students.
Doctorian says it's a miracle that none of the ministry's buildings were damaged during the recent conflict and that no church members were injured or killed. In September, those who had fled the region were trickling back to widespread unemployment and hunger.
"I sent every penny I had to feed our people," Doctorian said."The Arab countries are sending food and money to help the Muslim communities in Lebanon that were hit by the bombs, but the Christian communities are in desperate need."
Lebanon is the only country in the Middle East where Christians make up roughly 40 percent of the population.Lebanese Christians have traditionally supported Israel, but Doctorian says the recent conflict disillusioned many.Israeli bombs killed thousands of people, and destroyed hundreds of buildings and bridges.
Born in 1930 in an Armenian refugee camp in Beirut, Doctorian says he was baptized in the Holy Spirit as a teenager after God asked him if he was willing to love his enemies, the Turks.During the Armenian Genocide, Turks murdered his grandparents and most of his aunts and uncles. His father and mother were sold into slavery, but were later rescued and raised in a Beirut orphanage.
Initially Doctorian was afraid God would call him to minister to the Muslim world. But after a few days of struggle, he surrendered. For more than 60 years since, he has held revival services in predominantly Muslim nations such as Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Thousands have come to Christ through his ministry, and as a result he is banned from entering Syria and Egypt. He travels nearly 300 days a year and has preached in more than 127 countries. His biography is told in God Will Not Fail You, scheduled to release in December.
Doctorian is also known for receiving visions that some consider to be prophetic. While ministering in Beirut in 1968, he had a vision of a dark cloud over the city and thousands lying dead in the streets. At the time Beirut was a thriving business center, but in 1975 civil war broke out.
In 1998, he saw visions of widespread destruction around the world, including skyscrapers tumbling to the ground in New York. And in 2004, while sleeping in Indonesia, he saw the ground shake and the land being covered with water during two consecutive dreams. He was still en route to his Pasadena home when an earthquake triggered a tsunami in southeast Asia.
Doctorian says the Israel-Hezbollah truce is "just a lull in the fighting."
"There is no answer," he said sadly."We are in the last days."
He believes nuclear weapons will be used in the Middle East.
