A special presentation was made to Samuel E. Adunyah, Ph.D., chair and professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Cancer Biology. Dr. Adunyah has worked at Meharry for over 20 years. During that time he has served as the principal investigator for the Meharry-Vanderbilt Cancer Partnership and the Meharry Translational Research Grant. The Cancer Partnership grant was awarded in 2001 and has been continually renewed. Initially the grant included Meharry and Vanderbilt, however, over the years it has expanded to included Tennessee State University. Combined, Dr. Adunyah's grants bring in over $4.2 million per year.
