RECENT and EX-PRESIDENT (Prof. Samuel Evans Adunyah) - REPORT FOR THE PERIOD 2005 - 2009
Prof. Adunyah, the national president was the keynote speaker for the event.

reminded the alumni who were present that; their key roles include strengthening the overall academic developments of their alma mater, KNUST
also reminded the alumni of the role of the association in promoting the professional growth and development of its members and their dependents.
The colorful event was officiated by the national executive members including Prof. Samuel Evans Adunyah (National President), Dr. Joe Okyere-Conduah (National VP), Mr. Badu-Nkansah (National General Secretary) and Dr. Tony Osei (National Publicity Officer).

Officiating over the event were the National Executive members including, Professor Samuel Evans Adunyah; National President, Dr. Joe Okyere-Conduah; National VP, Mr. Osei Badu Nkansah; the National Secretary, Dr. Tony Osei (Osei Rough), National Publicity Officer, Mr. Bismark Yaw Asiamah of Chicago; President of the Midwest/Central Chapter of the Associations and Hon. Koby Koomson; former Ambassador of Ghana to USA.
During the swearing in of the new executives, the national executives led by Prof. Adunyah
and Dr. Conduah charged the new leaders of their responsibilities and mandate and doled out to them advice as they resume their new role as the leaders of the Chapter.
The keynote speaker of the function, Professor Samuel Evans Adunyah, also the National President of the Association in USA talked about the importance of owning up to our old school.
gave many strong leads to the members on how to work with the variouscorporations and institutions to donate to the KNUST
also provided insight into some challenges and concepts which whenemployed will help the new chapter achieve greater success.
Highlighting KNUST in the United States and enabling KNUST to develop strong academic relationships and collaborations with academic institutions in USA has been one of my key goals of Prof. Adunyah, the National President.
To this end, he made arrangements for the Vice Chancellor and his team of KNUST Provosts to visit Northwestern University in Chicago and the University of Wisconsin at Madison with the purpose of exploring the possibility of establishing academic relationships and collaborations which may ultimately lead to memoranda of understanding.

On a personal note, Prof. Adunyah
is delighted to report that in 2008 he
set up two small endowments in the KNUST's
Department of Biochemistry in a form of awards to promote academic excellence among biochemistry students and teaching/service excellence among the faculty.
The students' award honors the best student in the biochemistry's four-year degree program and it is named after him and his wife.
It is called Prof Samuel Evans Adunyah
and Mrs. Patricia A. Boykin-Adunyah Award for Academic Excellence in Biochemistry.
The second ward is called Prof Samuel Evans Adunyah
and Madam Abena Nuamah Award for Teaching Excellence and/or Outstanding Service in the Department of Biochemistry and it honors a Biochemistry faculty who exhibits the highest quality of teaching and/or service excellence.

Both of these awards were approved by the Academic/Faculty Council
and were given a warm welcome by the Prof K. K. Adarkwa, VC.
In conclusion, under the leadership of Prof. Adunyah
as the national president and working together with the formidable members of the national executive has enabled the national association to attain excellent accomplishments in the 2007-2009 period of time.
