Woodhaven also reaches out to the community by supporting the local high school football team. On Friday night, prior to a game, the church provides a dinner to the players, and Johnson takes the opportunity to speak to the team members about character, integrity, sportsmanship and biblical teachings.

Johnson provides biblical teachings at the Home of Grace, which is a Christian-based drug and alcohol recovery program.
The Home of Grace is divided into two locations, a women's facility in Gautier and a men's facility in Vancleave. About 40 women from the Home of Grace were invited to the church to watch the Super Bowl.
"They came and ate supper and watched the game," Johnson said.

"We invite women from our community for guidance on how to become beautiful and Godly women," Johnson said. "We bring in teachers to encourage and help women in their spiritual development."
Woodhaven provides encouragement to members as well as inspiration through uplifting music.
"We have a lot of talent in our group," Johnson said. "Sometimes our choir starts off singing or sometimes it is one our folks singing."
Johnson has been in the ministry for 20 years. He has been the pastor of Woodhaven for 13 years. He graduated from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1998.
He is married to Anita. They have five children and have fostered several children that they ended up adopting.
"I have a great wife," he said.
