The woman behind the art, Exhibit Coordinator Sally Grubb, has been working with artists to present vibrant exhibits at the library since the new building opening in November 2000.
A lifelong art enthusiast, Grubb
has been responsible for coordinating some of the area's most recognized art and craft fairs including the 1986 Ithaca Festival, for which she
introduced the famed Ithaca Festival Parade, the Forest Home Chapel Crafts Fair and the Upstate Crafts Fair.
She was also responsible for the window displays at the Corner Book Store and Logos Bookstore and is a longtime member of the City Public Art Commission, helping to select the City Centennial Art Collection, and working on the 21 Boxes Project.
"I have drawn all my life," Grubb
, an art major at her
high school in England, said.
That list may change; however, as Grubb
already has an impressive and eclectic slate of exhibits planned for 2013.
