Salanda Thomas joined the DC Family Empowerment Center, a federally funded grant project, as a Family Navigator in October, 2005.
Salanda has a passion for assisting those with disabilities who may not have a voice, need support, and encouragement to advocate for themselves. Salanda joins the Quality Trust as a seasoned and compassionate advocate with experience serving on numerous boards including the Early Intervention Interagency Coordinating Council, the Mayoral Advisory Committee on Special Education, DC Parks and Recreation Board, and others. She is a resident of the District and resides with her husband of twelve years and their two sons. Jonathan, is four years old, and has Downs Syndrome, and his birth inspired and empowered Salanda to further advocate and support individuals with disabilities.
