According to Ruthlyn Johnson, the JPS' Corporate Communications Officer, wrongful disconnection will result in higher compensation.
"There's a special compensation where residential customers will get two times the reconnection fee which is $3,000 and for the small commercial customer, it will be five times the customer charge which is $2,750.
For large industrial and commercial customers, it's fives times the fee which is $20,000.
"If you're wrongfully disconnected you should be reconnected within five hours," said Miss Johnson
on Television Jamaica's
morning programme Smile Jamaica Tuesday morning.
