Ruth directs AJC's Information Technology (IT). After 17 years with Electronic Data Systems, she held executive positions at Ernst & Young, Bowne & Co., Hobart West Group, and Spire Solutions Group. Ruth earned a B.A. from the University of Illinois, an M.P.H. from Northwestern University Medical School. She has been an Adjunct Professor for the M.S. Technology Management Program at Columbia University. Before becoming an I.T. professional she worked as an epidemiologist on the Northwestern faculty.

She was a faculty member of the NU Med School and co-authored scientific articles on cardiac epidemiology. As a leading Chief Information Officer (CIO), she has been quoted in CIO Decisions, InformationWeek, Optimize, NetworkWorld, InfoWorld, ComputerWeekly, and elsewhere on a variety of technology and leadership issues. She is an emeritus member of the InformationWeek Advisory Board. She served for 17 years on the NU College of Engineering Advisory Council (MAC) where she was the first woman Chairman. Out of over 18,000 women graduates, she was appointed to the NU Presidentâ€™s Council of 100 Executive Women. She is also currently an executive mentor in the Columbia Univ.
