Meet CA Founder + CEO Russ Gottesman
Russ Gottesman, Founder and CEO of Commuter Advertising, brings to CA an extensive background in entrepreneurship, media sales management and business strategy and development-skills that served him well when he founded the company in 2008.
A passionate commuter, Russ
developed the idea for Commuter Advertising
while on Chicago's 'L' subway system traveling home from a White Sox game.
"What if a bus stop could be 'sponsored' by a local business?
My wife and I were two of 100 hungry fans, riding past Chinatown.
Why shouldn't a restaurant reach out with a simple message: 'The best dumplings in town at Chang's Restaurant, 50 feet from next stop'?
We would have gotten off!"
Less than two years later, Russ
had turned his
vision into a reality.
After launching CA in 2008, he
led the company to enter ten markets in just five years while growing sales, championing strategy and developing a team of Account Directors.
Under Russ's leadership, CA went on to win the 2008 DePaul New Venture Challenge, the 2010 University of Dayton Business Plan Competition
, and the 2011 Soin Award for Innovation.
In 2012, Russ
was named Top 40 Under 40 by the Dayton Business Journal
