Russ DeFilippis of Lagond Music School
...Russ DeFilippis - A musician since the age of ten, Russ DeFilippis was admitted after high school to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, majoring in Applied Performance.
While a student at Berklee he
had the honor of being taught and coached by three dedicated guitarists and educators: William Leavitt, Mark French and Mick Goodrick. Upon graduation from Berklee and receiving a Bachelor of Music degree, Russ was offered and accepted position as a teacher in the college's guitar department.
Working hard throughout the 1970's, 80's, and 90's, Russ
recorded and toured with such diverse musicians as Bob Hope, Dick Clark, Joey Bishop, Martha Reeves, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Anthony, Bobby Rydell, Lou Christie, The Drifters, The Crystals, The Shirells, and George Benson, to name a few.
In 2002, Russ
joined forces with fellow guitarist John Tropea, and co-founded a jazz trio featuring, at different times, bassists Mike Richmond, Nicki Parrot, Cameron Brown, and Jay Leonhart.
