He is the founder and chairman of more than 70 companies with 250 branch offices throughout Indonesia and operating in 15 countries.
He has served as chairman of the INSEAD (French Management Institute) alumni organization and is now as the board of INSEAD in Indonesia, of IKANED, an organization comprised of Indonesian alumnus from Dutch Universities and of ASPERINDO (Indonesia's Courier Association).
He was Chapter Chairman of YPO (Young Presidents Organization) and currently an active member of WPO (World Presidents Organization) and CEO (Chief Executive Organization).
has also played an active role in KADIN in the Foreign Investment compartment and Foreign Trade compartment.
helped to improved ASEAN business relationships with Australia and New Zealand, and promoted Indonesia as Champion of SME movements.
He is Chief Indonesian Advisor to BIMP EAGA, where he helped in restructuring and revamping BIMP EAGA.
He was in the WTO negotiation team, where he had been in charge of trade facilitation and customs issues, and since 2002 Vice President of the ASEAN CCI.
He was elected as first Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) which was established on April 10, 2003 and formed the first ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (A-BIS) in October 2003.
He is Vice President of ASEAN Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ASEAN-CCI) and Vice President of Confederation of Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI).
is an active speaker on ASEAN
and its Business Dialog and its transition into the EABC.
In civic and social organizations he served as Chairman of the restoration projects for the old city for Batavia (Jakarta) and the greening of Jakarta, reporting directly to the Governor of Jakarta, Suryadi Sudirdja; Chairman of board of trustee of the DML (Friends of the Enviroment Fund), which was founded in 1983; and founder and national chairman of KOPI (Indigenous Indonesian Cooperatives), a cooperative association established in 1998, with over 500 Primary Cooperatives across the country.
In 2004 he established the CEO CIRCLE as Chairman and co-founder of the CEO Magazine.
Since 2005 he is on the board of INACRAFT/ASEPHI and active in the conservation of Indonesian National Heritage collections.
Mr. Pesik has been an Eisenhower Fellow since 1990, where he was recognized as the most promising young leader.
He has served on the International Advisory Council since 1997, and been a Trustee since 2002.
Due to his
many contributions to the Thailand over the last thirty years, he
was given on his
sixty-third birthday a Royal Decoration from His
Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej: The Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn, with the title of Companion, the highest private sector award.
Born in Singapore in April 2, 1941, Mr. Pesik
was graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology
(ITB) majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering.
is married with one son (an oceanic engineer from ITB) and one daughter (Ph.D. candidate in electronics/ telecommunications) with two handsome grandsons.
